Dave Gambrill, founding partner John Maxwell Team, advises that you “continue refining your skills and knowledge base.” You can take courses at your local community college to brush up on computer applications such as Excel, Word, etc. Consider learning a foreign language. You can also attend conferences and seminars.
The biggest thing you can do, according to Gambrill, to jump-start your career after the summer is to “evaluate your mentors and inner circle. Who is forcing you to stretch and grow? Do you have an accountability partner? How about an executive coach? Once you get your inner circle right, the rest will start to take care of itself.”
